LIVESTOCK exhibitor Abi Marshall from Bridestowe is celebrating success after winning the champion British Friesian handler at the All Breeds All Britain National Calf Show in Peterborough. The event saw calves from all over England, Wales and Scotland taking part with their owners and handlers.

Abi participated in the young handlers classes with two Jersey calves and four British Friesians and won champion British Fresian handler title with Greenway Boaz Polly 6.

She had more successes with first, fourth and second prizes for Greenway Rosie Red (1st), Greenway Bombardier Billie Jean (2nd) and Greenway Billie Jilly (4th) respectively in their various classes and Jersey Greenway Jamie Amaretto gained a fourth prize.

Abi is 19 and lives with her mum Tracy Marshall and stepfather Les Rockett, who are both well known on the agricultural show circuit, and has been competing in shows since the age of nine. She prepares all the cows and calves for shows and at one time even won a show with a cow she’d picked out of the field just a week before. ‘She’s got a real bug for it!’ said Tracy.

To date Abi has won three breed champions and two dairy supreme champions with her animals.
