Friendlies Halwill 3 Chagford 0 CHAGFORD failed miserably to cope with the Halwill pitch and the hosts? more direct style. Led admirably by veteran forward, Andy Winser, Halwill were sharper and almost always first to the ball. Chagford could say they were missing influential players but should offer no excuses for a poor overall performance and some dreadful mistakes. Halwill Reserves 6 Chagford Reserves 0 THE visitors were first out of the traps but failed to press home their chances, despite being the more creative of the two sides. The loss of Steve Tolen for Chagford, early on with suspected ligament damage, was a cruel blow as there were no recognised strikers on the bench. Halwill?s big centre-forward opened the scoring with a sweet strike and the hosts never looked back. Debut making Daniel Gill, in the Chagford goal, was overly exposed but still managed some excellent saves as Halwill pressed harder and harder through the game - notching goals regularly. Thanks have to go to Jon Clark for refereeing both games on a very hot afternoon.
