THE Chagford Singers will be bringing a programme, including Vivaldi, Britten and Vaughan Williams, to Moretonhampstead next month. This year's Christmas concert will be in Moretonhampstead Church as work continues to refurbish the church at Chagford. Alongside some favourite carols, there will be performances of Vivaldi's Magnificat, Britten's Ceremony of Carols and Vaughan Williams Fantasia on Carols. The baritone soloist will be Mark Boocock, the accompanist on organ and piano is Jonathan Watts, and the concert will be conducted by Christopher Fletcher. The singers are looking forward to performing at St Andrew's in Moretonhampstead. Their recent concert at Ilsington Church as part of the Two Moors Festival was a great success, not least because of the excellent acoustics. They hope the evening in Moretonhampstead will be equally enjoyable. The concert takes place at 7.30pm on Saturday, December 2. Tickets are £9 in advance and £10 on the door to include mulled wine and mince pies. Tickets are available from Youds Newsagents in Chagford, Moreton Pharmacy or by post from Dilys Egginton on 01647 440224.
