Chagford v Ivybridge

IN this clash between second place Ivybridge and third placed Chagford the home sided were indebted to two fine all round performances from Del Lammonby and Mark Gribble.   Batting first Ivybridge made a confident start with Johnson and Andrews easing themselves to 41 in nine overs.  However in the tenth over, Johnson was well caught by Mark Gribble in the slips off Duncan Christophers and two balls later Jacobs fell to the same combination.

Gribble was introduced into the attack and the switch of ends for Lammonby produced dividends with wickets falling at regular intervals. Ivybridge were all out for 123 with Gribble 3 for 40 and Lammonby 2-28, Christophers 2-22 and Neal Rowlands with 2-9 backed by good fielding and superb wicket keeping by Stuart Lord.

Chagford's Gribble wasted no time in getting to grips with the Ivybridge bowling and smashed his way to 40 in eight overs in an opening partnership of 57 including seven fours and one six.   With his departure Lammonby was joined by Rowlands who helped him to push the score to 117 before Rowlands was caught by Veale off Abrahams.

Andrew Patterson with Lammonby then saw the score through to 127 for 2 to give Chagford a deserved victory by eight wickets in only 16.1 overs.     Lammonby finished with 66 not out including 11 fours and one six.   Chagford now move to second in the league.
