WARTIME France came to Buckland Monachorum village hall recently when Buckland Drama Group presented the stage version of the highly popular television comedy series ?Allo ?Allo.

The script, featuring all the well-known TV characters, has been made available to amateur societies and is being presented throughout the country.

The Buckland Drama Group production was very well received on all four nights by capacity audiences, who were given a further taste of France in the form of French bread, cheese and wine during the interval.

The play was directed by Barbara Howland and featured Gerry Falvey in the part of René, with Sheila Phillips as his wife Edith.

Brian Clifton played Col Von Strohm, Laurie Larkin Captain Bertorelli, Graham Leverett Herr Flick, Peter Miekle Gruber and Gus Thornton General Von Schmelling. Yvette, Mimi and Michelle were played by Lara Pollard, Lisa Snowdon and Janet Larkin. Tim Alexander was Leclerc, Jeff Sleeman Crabtree and Linda Anderson Helga.

The drama group?s next production will be a pantomime, to be presented at the end of November.
