CADET units in Tavistock were presented with agreement certificates by The Royal British Legion recently.

Agreement of Affiliation Certificates were presented to 2nd Lieutenant Paul Laurance-Young, the staff and cadets of ‘B’ Company, Tavistock Detachment Army Cadet Force and to squadron leader John Olver, the staff and cadets of 2312 (Tavistock) Squadron ATC.

The certificates were presented by Malcolm Christie, the chairman of the Royal British Legion Tavistock Branch who was accompanied by the vice-chairman, Chris Smerdon.

The certificates were to show that there is a clear understanding and respect for the aims and objectives of each other’s respective organizations and agree to provide mutual support and encouragement within the community of Tavistock and when requested and practicable, agree to provide help and support in achieving those aims and objectives.

Mr Christie said it was a real pleasure to present the certificates to these organizations whose cadets are such a fine example of the local young people.
