DOROTHY Dichlian, of Ash Farm, Grenofen, celebrated her 100th birthday recently with her two children, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Born in Hampstead, London, where she grew up with seven brothers and sisters, Dorothy married her Armenian husband George in August 1931 and raised her two children Michael and Jeanette in Mill Hill, London. She moved to Grenofen in 1988, where she lives with Jeanette and son-in-law David, and was a member of St Andrew?s Church, Whitchurch Mothers? Union, Prayer Group and WI. Sadly, she is now housebound but still reads widely and knits for the great grandchildren and their friends. Dorothy is cared for by her daughter and West Devon Home Care Services to whom she expressed thanks and gratitude on her birthday. A telegram from the Queen was among the many good wishes she received on her very special day.
