AFTER a century of smiles Mrs May Connor was celebrating her 100th birthday in style last week.
Friends she had known for more than 40 years and four generations of family were present to enjoy May?s birthday tea party at Lamerton?s Camplehaye Nursing Home on Monday.
Mrs Connor was born in Fowey and spent most of her early life in Plymouth before moving to Tavistock in the mid-1980s where she quickly became a well known and much-liked member of the community.
She was an active member of the Civil Service Club and Arthritis Care Association for many years and attended many coffee mornings at the Old Folks? Restroom in Duke Street.
May also enjoyed showing off her dancing skills and was a popular face at the Anchorage Centre tea dances.
She moved into Camplehaye ten years ago and her family cannot speak highly enough of the ?lovely staff? who pulled out all the stops for her special day.
