LEWDOWN Cricket Club held their annual end of season lunch and presentations at Eagle House in Launceston
Ninety players, members and friends were welcomed by club chairman Alan Whitton. He spoke of the club?s successful season: winning the West Devon Cup, by beating local rivals Bridestowe in the final.
The young Tamar Saturday league team was also successful in beating the Ordulph Arms in the League Cup final. The Devon league team continues to do well and just missed out on promotion, finishing a close third.
Lewdown Cricket Club continues to expand rapidly with a new pavilion, two Saturday league teams, two evening league teams and three colts teams, it all augers well for the future.
Club president, Frank Rolfe, presented awards to the following: Devon League: Willow Cup, Dean Summersby. Leather Cup, Charles Hughes. Tamar League: Willow Cup, Martin Squire; Leather Cup, Brenden Worth.
Under 11 Colts: Bowling Cup, Ashley Volz; runner-up, Will Hodgetts. Batting Cup, Bill Colwill; runner-up Sam Spry. Under 15 Colts: Bowling Cup, Harry Geering; runner-up, Ander Cooley. Batting Cup Harry Geering, runner-up Ed Squire.
