STAR violinist Madeline Mitchell plays at Tavistock Wharf on Saturday.

One of Britain?s most celebrated violinists, she has performed as a soloist in over 40 countries.

In August she gave an acclaimed recital at the Dartington International Summer School as well as violin master classes in a very busy schedule of concerts in festivals abroad.

Her exciting recital programme for Tavistock with the outstanding young pianist Alasdair Beatson includes the violin sonata by Franck, one of the best loved works in the repertoire, and commemorates the centenary of Dvorak?s death with his delightful Sonatine.

This is followed by Gershwin?s ?An American in Paris? arranged by Madeleine Mitchell for violin and piano.

Madeleine previously came to Tavistock to give a very popular recital and to judge the Tavistock Young Musician competition and has agreed to give a workshop for young violinists at Kelly College the day before her recital.
