A BAND from Tavistock tipped for major success in 2007 will be visiting its roots next month. The Rumble Strips, which features three former Tavistock College students, is currently causing a stir in the live music circuit The band consists of: Charlie Waller, lead vocals and guitar; Henry Clark, keyboards and trumpet; Tom Gorbutt, saxophone and bass; Matthew Wheeler, drums. The hotly-tipped band is to play around the South West during August for the ?Taste of Devon? tour which will see them perform at the Wharf in Tavistock on Tuesday, August 14. Henry said: ?Growing up in the South West, it was a pretty rare event for a band to come and play near us. ?Occasionally the indie circuit would stretch as far as Plymouth, but Tavistock, never. ?This West County tour will see us revisiting one or two of the places we played back then, when we were all 15. I remember those gigs as being pretty anarchic really. Hopefully not too much has changed!? For tickets contact the Wharf Box Office on 01822 611166. The Rumble Strips will release their brand new single ?Girls and Boys in Love? on August 27. The debut album ?Girls and Weather? follows on September 10.
