A REMOTE house at Postbridge was the setting for part of the New Year's Day edition of BBC's popular hospital drama Casualty.
A crew of 40 took over the entire property for the filming which took place at the end of September.
Owner Sally Baber said the request came out of the blue.
'We had holiday-let the house when we were away — the holiday company phoned up to ask if we would mind a locations manager looking at it and he came down pretty quickly,' she said.
'Trying to find somewhere as remote as we are is not as easy as it sounds.
'They came on the Monday and were gone by Saturday — we just left them to it.'
The TV crew had to bring their own generator as the house has no mains electricity — they also had problems with the weather.
'They had the end of that fantastic weather in September, so they had to bring a wind machine which was quite funny — whoever heard of needing a wind machine on Dartmoor!,' said Ms Baber.
The house and the long track leading to it featured in the first quarter of the programme, when the characters Josh and Penny are called to a remote country cottage to treat a diabetic man.
The patient has to be taken to hospital but the ambulance runs into trouble on the track.
'I've never watched the programme before — the ironic thing is we don't actually have a TV,' said Ms Baber.
