TAVISTOCK Chamber of Commerce should be given £300 towards staging the Christmas light extravaganza, members of the town council?s finance committee decided at their meeting last week. Members heard that although there was only £93 left in the grants budget for this year, the money should be found. Cllr Norma Woodcock said: ?I think we should make a contribution. I think the lights give the town a great morale boost, both for citizens and trade and for the whole feeling of being a community. ?We are the best market town and at Christmas, we want to look it.? The committee agreed £300 should be given to the Chamber of Commerce ? the decision was due to be ratified by the full council on Tuesday.
