HATHERLEIGH Festival has received a £2,750 boost to put on extra events celebrating the Queen's Golden Jubilee during the four-day festival in July.
Money from the Lottery's Awards for All programme will fund a tea party and tea dance and family entertainment, including a Cuban band. Presenter of the Old Grey Whistle Test Bob Harris and up and coming singer Thea Gilmore will also be there.
The events, which will include Cuban dance and yoga workshops, will take place during July 11 to 14 with the family day planned for the last day of the festival.
Jubilee events in Hatherleigh are also scheduled for the Bank Holiday weekend in June with a floral dance, communal tea, service, town band and get together in the Square planned for Sunday June 2 and entertainment, bonfire and barbecue at Hatherleigh Moor the following day.
