A RECORD-breaking collection at Okehampton Carnival has delighted organisers.
The amount collected on the day was £2,243 which is at least £100 up on last year.
Okehampton Carnival Committee has expressed thanks to all the people who supported the event and helped make it such a success.
Chairman Margaret Sage said the crowds were bigger on carnival night and the nice weather contributed to that.
'It has not been an easy year for the community with the foot and mouth crisis but they came out to support the carnival which is terrific,' she said.
