A WEST Devon soldier and his two friends from the Armed Forces are running a double marathon everyday in a 17-day challenge to get from John O'Groats to Land's End in memory of a fellow soldier killed in Afghanistan.

The running group are due to be running into West Devon this week.

Tavistock man Major Carl Boswell, aged 34, who serves in the Rifles, will be running alongside Colonel Nigel Moreland, who is in the Army Legal Services, and former Captain P J Luard, in a challenge they have named the 'Undentable Run.'

The runners will be stopping over in North Tawton tonight (Thursday), and continuing through Okehampton tomorrow.

They are running the 851 miles in memory of their friend Captain Mark Hale who was killed while attempting to rescue an injured soldier when serving in Afghanistan last year.

They are also hoping to raise £100,000 for a number of Armed Forces charities including Help for Heroes, ABF The Soldiers' Charity and the Rifles' Regiment trust.

The Undentable Run has had backing from Prime Minister David Cameron who said he was delighted to give his support to the project and the causes it is helping.

The team are hoping to finish at Lands End on Saturday (June 26) providing everything goes to plan.
