AS the festive season gets nearer, the time has come to start thinking about sending Christmas greetings to friends and family with the traditional Christmas card.
Once again, the Cards for Good Causes multi-charity Christmas card shop at the United Reformed Church in Russell Street, Tavistock, will be opening its doors on Tuesday, October 19 to offer a wide range of cards while making money for a number of charities.
Last year 300 charities received £5-million from Christmas card sales throughout the UK.
In previous years the Tavistock shop alone has contributed around £26,000 per year to the various charities, at times breaking the national record for a town of its size.
Cards for Good Causes will be open until Friday December 17, Mondays to Saturdays 10am to 4pm.
This year, volunteers are needed to cover gaps in the rota. Anyone who is interested in helping should contact David Stapleton on 01822 616560.
