CHAGFORD firefighters were called to a car fire which occured between Eastern Cross and Sandy Park on Monday morning. The firefighters used two breathing apparatus sets, two hose reels and two dry powder extinguishers. Nobody was injured in the incident which occured at around 9.30am. l Okehampton firefighters were called to a car fire near Sourton Cross late afternoon last Friday. One fire appliance from Okehampton attended and extinguished the blaze which had caused only light damage to the vehicle. l A chimney fire at a house in Goswick Close, North Tawton was confined to the chimney area and put out by the town?s firefighters. The crew were at the scene for around an hour on Friday evening.
