Car cleaners were asset to the town

I was saddened to read of the loss of the car cleaners in Somerfield

car-park.

Since they started their business my car has never been so clean, much better and cheaper than any automatic wash, which always leave the sills and wheels dirty.

It seems very short-sighted of the council to charge the team rent. Surely they were providing a useful service to attract shoppers to the town centre, and to provide security in the car-park, and, presumably, at no cost to the

council, at a time when more and more people seem to be shopping out of town.
