AN INNOVATIVE competition which combines photographing the beauty of the Tamar Valley while raising money to fight a debilitating disease is ready to click into action.
With a theme of 'Seasons in the Tamar Valley', four competitions are to be held each year, the first being springtime 2013. The photography competitions not only offer some great prizes but all proceeds will be going to Diabetes UK, a charity which combats the life threatening condition.
The Boot Inn at Calstock is sponsoring the competitions in the hope of raising awareness and funds for the charity in support of their care connect campaign.
Open to all age groups, contestants can submit up to a maximum of five entries of any springtime image that has been taken in or around the Tamar Valley up until May 15, which is the closing date for the competition. Prizes include a one month exhibition of the winners work, plus dinner for two with a bottle of wine at The Boot Inn; runner up prizes include one for entrants aged 12 years and under.
Subsequent competitions in summer, autumn and winter will be held along the same guide lines.
Every entry made will see £1 going towards the fight against diabetes, a condition that could affect all of us and loved ones at any time.
So say organisers 'Get snapping and good luck.'
l Entry forms are available at The Boot Inn, Calstock, Tesco Callington and Dartmoor Photographic in Brook Street, Tavistock or on email by contacting Emma on 01822 834554 Monday to Friday, 10am to 3pm.
