YOUR front page of July 12 interestingly reported that former Okehampton MP Lord Burnett, despite being a Lib Dem himself, was not in agreement with the current proposal put forward by Nick Clegg leader of the Lib Dems for reform of the House of Lords.

Such a candid comment from a politician is refreshing.

Another former Okehampton MP, Geofrrey Cox, actually voted against the proposal. He at least had the backbone to vote against his Government.

What a pity, therefore, that the current MP for Central Devon, which includes Okehampton, did not have the backbone to do similarly, despite voicing so called concerns.

This is what is wrong with these MPs — always voting for the Government come what may. Please use your vote wisely at the next general election.
