CELEBRATIONS for the bicentenary of Tavistock Canal move to Morwellham Quay this weekend with Canal Day.

On Sunday August 31 visitors to the popular attraction will be able to take special guided tours of the Morwellham arm of the canal and the inclined plane which linked the canal to the quay.

The inclined plane was described in a 1991 survey of Canal Cottage as ?remarkable? and ?an unusually complete and inspiring monument of the early industrial revolution.?

On Monday the canal exhibition, currently on show in Tavistock?s Guide Hall, will move to Morwellham.
