WITH a record number of 115,000 visitors last year and the figure likely to be even higher this season the National Trust is busy looking for some new volunteers to boost the existing team.
Volunteer co-ordinator Kate Swetman said this year Castle Drogo was mounting a wide variety of events ranging from a 1920?s weekend to a traditional summer fete and outdoor theatre performances.
?We are looking for new volunteers to assist with the running of these and other events and to help ensure that they run smoothly,? she said.
Ms Swetman said another important area where volunteers were required was as room stewards to welcome visitors.
?Volunteers usually help out once a week or fortnight and Drogo is especially keen to hear from anyone with time to spare on Fridays and Saturdays,? she said.
