Calstock Parish Council are hosting a tea party on Wednesday to thank all the volunteers who helped the community during the pandemic.

The party will take place on October 27 from 3pm at the Tamar Valley Centre.

The organisers are asking anyone planning to let them know by October 22 because there are restrictions on the maximum number of people allowed within the building.

In the event that the number of guests exceed the limit, the council may have to move the party to Harrowbarrow Village Hall which has kept the date free just in case.

During the pandemic, local volunteers carried out many different services including grocery shopping, prescription collection, dog walking and making face masks.

A Calstock parish council spokesperson said: ‘It will be lovely to meet some of these wonderful people for the first time.’

There will also be a representative from local charity Volunteer Cornwall present to allow guests the opportunity to sign up with the organisation and get involved in a wide range of volunteering activities.
