Cornish Guardian East Cornwall Premier League Bodmin Town 2 Callington Town 5 CALLINGTON hit back in style following their 6-0 drubbing in their last outing at Biscovey to gain a valuable three points. Bodmin took a second minute lead but that was about as good as it got as Callington hit back in style. Lee Crooks levelled matters before a brace from Jon Hake, the first a cracking 25 yard volley, put the game beyond Bodmin?s grasp. A second Crooks goal, followed by a Darren Woolley header gave Callington a 5-1 lead before Bodmin?s late consolation. The win consolidated Callington?s 13th place in the league, which they will hope to improve upon on Saturday when they entertain Camelford at Ginsters Marshfield Parc. Trophies Duchy League Division Two Fowey United 4 Callington Town 5 A VERY young Callington side had to effectively win this game twice as they finally got their league programme up and running with three points against a plucky Fowey outfit on the south coast. Teenage striker Nathan Dore gave Town a 15th minute lead and then doubled the advantage on 38 minutes. Captain Chris Canham added a third just before the break but Fowey hit back almost immediately to leave the visitors 3-1 up at the interval. United had the better of the opening exchanges in the second half and further reduced the arrears on 70 minutes. Four minutes later it was 3-3 but Callington went straight up the other end and Shane Richards restored their advantage. Two minutes from the end Dore completed another great hat trick but it was the home side who completed the scoring in injury time before the final whistle brought relief and three vital points to Callington.
