CALLINGTON Town Hall was buzzing at the weekend with visitors to the Portreeve’s Community Day.

The event was organised by Callington Town Council and was deemed a huge success with more than 40 groups and organisations from Callington and the surrounding area attending the day.

The idea of the community event was for the groups and organisations to get together and either raise money for their charity or just let the community know what they do and what is available for anyone to get involved in.

The stands varied enormously with youth groups, health information, musical and sporting groups and organisations for the more mature person. The event was the ideal opportunity for them to showcase themselves to the community.

Callington Town Council displayed information about the Neighbourhood Plan and what has been achieved so far and how the plan is progressing.

Councillors were also busy serving refreshments throughout the day and circulating among the public who visited the event.

Portreeve of Callington and Kelly Bray Cllr Andrew Long said: ‘It was good to see so many stalls representing the community of Callington. Well done to all concerned.’
