ORGANISATIONS from around the West Country will visit Lydford on Tuesday, October 11 from 11am to 2pm to discuss their services with residents.
West Devon Borough Council's Connect outreach service has arranged for more than 12 organisations such as South West Water and the Citizens' Advice Bureau to attend, and all members of the Lydford community are invited to come along and chat with advisors over tea or coffee.
Claire Wager, the borough council's Connect outreach coordinator, said: 'We're delighted that the Lydford residents have invited us and our partner organisations to attend their Tuesday coffee morning.
'It's apparent that one of the concerns in Lydford is rural transport, so we've confirmed representatives from three community transport agencies which cover the village: Devon Wheels 2 Work; Tavistock Area Support Services and Okehampton & District Community Transport. We've worked hard to make sure that it's a worthwhile event for the community."
Action on Hearing Loss, Devon County Council adult education, the fire service and Westcountry housing will also be at the coffee morning, and there will be free refreshments for residents.
Cllr Lynne Rose, West Devon Borough Councillor for Lydford said: 'The post office will be running its regular service at Nicholls Hall on October 11 as well, so I'd highly recommend residents come down, run their errands, have a coffee and learn about the services available to them. West Devon Connect is such a vital service for our rural communities, and I look forward to attending the Lydford event to see it in action.'
