ON World Oceans Day, June 8, Helpful Holidays, the Chagford-based self-catering cottage agency, held a fundraising day for their chosen charity of the year, the Marine Conservation Society, through a fancy dress and bake a cake event.
The agency raised £200, sufficient money to adopt a turtle through the MSC.
'Fish' and 'mermaids', 'jellyfish' and 'pirates' were answering the telephones and looking after holidaymakers.
Natalie Haydon, who organised the event, said everyone was involved and arrived for work in all sorts of costumes.
Helen Hayes, PR manager, added: 'We strongly support the work of the MCS.
'It's an obvious match for us because they work so hard to protect our coastline for the benefit of our holidaymakers.
'World Oceans day is an ideal opportunity for us to raise funds and promote awareness of the charity.'
The best-dressed competition was won by David Hall who came dressed for the beach.
He won a lunch for two at restaurant 'Number 22' in Mill Street, Chagford.
