AIR Cadets from Okehampton got the chance to fly a two-seater plane on a recent week-long camp at RAF Innsworth.
Cadets from 2443 Okehampton Air Cadet squadron participated in a range of activities, as well as flying in the two-seater plane, including team sports and rifle-shooting.
Cadets also had the chance to explore the historic city of Gloucester and visit the aircraft museum at RAF Cosford.
Sixteen other young cadets from across
Cornwall also attended the annual camp.
Other recent activities in which Okehampton Air Cadets have been involved include one cadet attending a silver Duke of Edinburgh award expedition organised by the ATC earlier this year. Two cadets from Okehampton were also members of successful 35 and 45-mile Ten Tors teams.
All the Okehampton cadets are currently participating in a programme of activities organised by Okehampton Youth Hostel, giving the opportunity to go climbing, raft-building, mountain-biking, archery and navigation.
Two cadets also recently obtained their gliding solo wings.
If you are between 13 and 18 and would like to try something new and adventurous, the Air Cadets could be for you. The cadets parade every Monday, from 6pm to 9.30pm at the old railway sidings. For more information call 01837 55044.
