YOUNG people from Tavistock and Okehampton were among 350 Devon Army Cadets aged between 13 and 18 who recently spent two weeks at their annual summer camp at Castlemartin in Pemrbokeshire.
Activities during the fortnight included climbing and abseiling, expeditions on the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, a three-day field exercise, target shooting and a day's sailing, canoeing and windsurfing from the beach at Dale.
Sports competitions and swimming took place in the evenings and the camp concluded with a sports day and disco. The final parade was led by the newly formed Corps of Drums.
Each of the four Devon Companies came home with a share of the trophies awarded for sports and skills. This year's overall champions were D Company, based in South Devon.
