FIREFIGHTERS went to Meeth last Thursday after reports that an electricity cable was arcing and had set alight the roof of a nearby garage.

One crew from Hatherleigh, one from North Tawton and one from Torrington attended at 9.45pm.

On arrival firefighters discovered a small fire involving a timber extension, and used one hose reel to tackle the fire.

The incident was left in the hands of Western Power.
