Mount House School rounders:

U10+U11 v St Petroc?s School

THE U10s had a slow first innings, reaching half-time with six rounders to both sides. Mount House then managed to smarten up a little to win 10-9 1/2.

The U11s also started slowly but swept back with a better second innings. St Petroc?s did not have any answer and the final score was 14 1/2 -10. Alice Toynton and Kathryn Jory were commended for adaptability and skill.

U9B v Kelly Prep

A PLEASING win for Mount House, 20 rounders to 17 1/2. They enjoyed their first match and demonstrated great potential. Special mention to Phoebe Malcolm for her bowling and Molly Dawson for holding the team together and scoring several rounders.

U9A v Kelly Prep

THERE was no sign of pre-match nerves as Mount House batted well in their first innings to score six rounders. With excellent individual fielding and teamwork Kelly Prep were all out for 3 1/2 rounders.

In the second innings Mount House were a little eager and there were careless runouts. But excellent fielding saw them go to an 8-5 1/2 win. Katie Cowie bowled well.

U13 v Exeter School

THIS was a low scoring match which combined elements of tight fielding and strong batting with panicked fielding and poorly placed batting.

Alice Toynton was commended for her batting and Shiho for her fielding. The half time score, of 1 1/2-1 to Exeter, represented a timid start on the part of the batters and determination by the fielders. But with the quick second half loss of two of Mount House?s strongest batters, they were unable to match Exeter?s final score and lost by 9 1/2 -4 1/2
