HALF term fun has been organised at Tavistock College for local youngsters, starting this Monday. The new and improved February half term holiday activities will see children having the choice to partake in either indoor climbing, archery, 'tag' rugby, rugby, netball or the Arsenal Soccer School course. This Monday from 10.30am to 12.30pm, eight to 14-year olds will learn basic climbing skills and techniques on the college climbing wall with a Devon County Council qualified climbing leader, for £4 each. From 1.30pm to 3.30pm students aged eleven to 16 will be taught archery outside on the college grounds by a qualified leader. Cost is £6 per student. A tag rugby camp will also be held on Monday from 10am to 4pm for 8 to 11-year olds for £10 each. On Tuesday (February 19) a rugby camp for 12 to 16-year old boys will concentrate on building confidence and improving skill level in areas such as passing, contact and general game play. The activity will be held from 10am to 3pm and costs £10. On Wednesday a netball camp will be held from 10am to 3pm for 10 to 14-year olds. This day course will introduce players to the basic skills required to play a full match. The main activity during February half term is the three day Arsenal Soccer School course which starts on Wednesday. Youngsters from 5 to 15-years old can choose whether to attend for a day at £15 or spend £40 on the whole course.
