WHITE Stuff in Tavistock recently held a competition to raise funds for their local charity ‘Make A Difference’ which is based in the town.

The company asked people to pop into the shop for a square of material and make a patchwork piece which would then be displayed in the shop at a tea party and representatives from Make A Difference would judge them.

The staff at White Stuff worked hard at advertising this and also provided refreshments for a small donation as well as displaying the many craft pieces. A raffle was held for a plant and bouquet of flowers donated by A Scent-Sation, a gift set from Neal’s Yard and a bottle of Cava.

The winner of the patchwork — Joy Harrison from Tavistock — won a £50 voucher for White Stuff and the winning patch will be sent to White Stuff head office to be entered into a national competition to win a holiday for two people.

White Stuff staff are extremely supportive of Make A Difference and endeavour to come up with new ideas for fundraising in order to help keep the drop in centre open.

Trident House provides facilities for people with mental health problems to meet with friends in a safe, comfortable environment and participate in arts and crafts, music, pottery, board games, computers or just enjoy refreshments and a chat.

It was an extremely successful afternoon with a great crowd joining the staff to view the results of the judging by Make A Difference members.

Make A Difference would like to thank the many people who participated in the competition and White Stuff’s staff for all their support.
