LIFTON-based Devon Hampers was celebrating this week, having won the 2014 Taste of the West Award for 'Best Online Retailer'.

Devon Hampers is based at the Arundell Arms in Lifton and is owned by the Fox-Edwards family who also own the hotel. It was launched in October 2013 and sources 100% of its produce from within the county of Devon.

Managing director Adam Fox-Edwards said: 'I am absolutely delighted to win this award. To be recognised so soon after we started says a lot about the high quality of the produce here in Devon and also about the whole team who have built this new enterprise.'

Taste of the West chief executive John Sheaves said: 'The standard of entries from all the producers and hospitality and retail outlets from across the region has been exceptional and certainly much higher than in previous years.'
