BUS services in West Devon could this week be affected by strike action, First Devon and Cornwall warned. The company is currently in dispute with the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT). Staff held a 24-hour strike last Friday and an overtime ban started on Sunday which will not end until Saturday night. Gerald Taylor, managing director of First, said: ?Whilst we will do everything that we can to limit the impact of this industrial action, we have warned our customers to be prepared for minor disruption.? Mr Taylor said the RMT has also given the company notice of further strike action, on Thursday July 21 ? although First was doing all it could to settle the dispute prior to this date. ?It is our sole intention that this dispute is resolved as soon as possible. ?We want to continue to operate a reliable and sustainable bus service throughout the region for our customers,? said Mr Taylor.
