A BURST water main left approximately 50 homes in Horrabridge without water for nearly 12 hours last week. The burst was in a four-inch cast iron water main, 150 yards up from Greenway Close, and was reported on October 6. Homes at the top of the village were without water for most of the day ? other areas had low water pressure. A South West Water spokesperson apologised for the incident, and that there had been a delay of several hours in finding where the burst was due to the fact it remained underground. Alternative supplies were provided and a bowser was located in the layby at Sortridge Farm. Water containers were also provided to members of the public who requested them. The burst was repaired and service returned to normal by Friday evening. SWW thanked residents for their patience and co-operation.
