DAVID Mather, a member of West Dartmoor Art Group, has recently been awarded a half share of the Michael Sanders Bursary by the SAA art magazine.

Michael was a local artist and founder member of both the magazine and the art group, who tragically lost his life in an accident in Canada in 2014.

David is pictured right, receiving the award from Ian Goodfellow, the chairman of West Dartmoor Art Group.

Recently, following its annual exhibition and raffle, the group presented cheques for £315 each to Richard Walker, representing the Devon Air Ambulance Trust and Richard Thorn, representing the Dartmoor Rescue Group.
