THE ever-popular children?s musical Bugsy Malone is this year?s school production at Okehampton College. Based on Alan Parker?s award-winning film and set in the mafia gangland of 1920s New York, it is the story of happy-go-lucky Bugsy. He gets involved in the turf war between Fat Sam and Dandy Dan, two hoodlums who want control over the city. He also gets involved with a couple of ?broads?, Blousy Brown, a sweet girl from out of town and the predatory Tallulah. With a live band and an all-singing, all-dancing cast of more than 50 students, and a great set and costumes, it promises to be a superb evening out for all the family. The venue is the Octagon Theatre at the college. Tickets are priced £4 for all and are available at the front office of the college. The performances are at 7.30pm on Wednesday, February 2, Thursday, February 3, Friday, February 4, and Saturday, February 5, at the earlier time of 6.45pm.
