Yelverton v
Buckland
YELVERTON won the toss and deciding to bat first on a dry dusty wicket.
With West and Bennett opening the batting for the home side Buckland's opening bowlers needed to be on top form. They did not disappoint with Osborne (3-8 off 5 overs) and Pollard (2-22 off 5), who made light work of the opening batsmen with grace and style.
With the score on just 39-5 Dan Gilling came on and took a superb (5-10 off 2.5) to demolish the second half of the Yelverton order leaving the home team on 50 all out. However, Buckland did not think the game was already over, respectful of their opponents abilities.
Osborne and Rogers opened the batting for Buckland with Osborne hitting the first ball for a text book cover drive for four Buckland.
However, with accurate bowling by Stokes (3-12 off 5) and with Vince and O Hanlon taking a wicket a piece Buckland were 45-5. Despite a steady controlled 17 by Pollard with only four overs to go another wicket fell to make it 49-6.
Yelverton bought on Bennett (2-1 off 2 overs) and Cunningham (1-4 off 1.2) into the attack but with a cool head and to finish off a match winning performance Dan Gilling steered Buckland to victory in the last over pulling a shot for four.
