Duchy division 1 Lamerton 7 Maker With Rame 3 THIS was Lamerton?s first league game of the month and the lack of match practice showed as they went 1-0 behind inside ten minutes from a penalty. Maker?s top man, Davies, was a menace in the first period with some great runs at the wary Lamerton defence. Simon Breyley was lucky to stay on the pitch as he body-checked his run on goal. Lamerton equalised through Pete Broomfield and the key goal then arrived when Kev Swift scored majestically from almost 40 yards. The onrushing keeper exposed his goal and after a defensive clearance, Swift?s half-volley was perfectly lofted into the net. After the break, Lamerton scored quickly. James Healy?s ball put Daniel Healy through on goal and he lobbed over the keeper. Darren Sambells got a fourth to make the game all but safe. Maker did reply through Paul Driver off a routine cross poorly dealt with, but their lacklustre attitude gave Lamerton too much time on the ball and the home side scored three more. Broomfield completed a hat-trick and Dave Byworth scored a trickler the away keeper will want to forget. Maker had the last word when Lamerton left two on two at the back and striker James Carhart got onto an accurate cross and smashed in off the bar. This week, away to St Teath.
