David Conn, director at Broadley Speaking, presented Pat Macauley, the president of Tavistock Lions Club with a cheque for £65 to top up its carnival fundraising.

David said: 'We missed joining in the carnival this year so we thought we would raise some money with cake sales and donations from our "dress down Fridays". The Lions do great work with local charities so its great to be able to support their efforts.'

Pat said: 'It's a great amount and more than a few bucketfuls — we look forward to seeing Broadley Speaking's float in next year's carnival, the theme is "Yer 'avin a laugh!".­'
