BACK by popular demand from Villages in Action Promoters around Devon is Kosmos String Ensemble.  Last year they played to audiences who could not believe how fantastic these musicians are.  Their performances were breathtaking — and they will be performing in Brentor next month.   Kosmos play a unique blend of innovative pieces.  They perform their own compositions, arrangements or improvisations inspired by Jewish, Gypsy, Balkan and contemporary music.  Intoxicating dance rhythms, soulful improvisation and gypsy passion delivered with panache and virtuoso technique.  With numerous performances, national, Chichester Festival, Purcell Room, St Martin in the Fields, and international, Rebetika Festival in Greece and twice at the Padova festival in Italy, since Kosmos began in 2005, their work is reaching far and wide.  All award winning scholars at their colleges, Royal Academy, Edinburgh University and Trinity College of Music, they are as an ensemble, and individually, carving out very successful careers for themselves.  They will be appearing at Brentor Village Hall on Saturday February 9 at 7.30pm, tickets 01822 810600.   The full spring programme from Villages in Action is now from Libraries, Tourist Information Offices, local district council offices or direct from or 01363 773660.
