HUNGRY Okehampton residents who tucked into a St George?s Day breakfast at the Plume of Feathers in April, helped raise £60 for Hospiscare.
Each year, any proceeds made from the St George?s Day breakfasts, after costs, are donated to a local charity.
This year was no exception with the money raised used to purchase a hamper jam-packed with fine local produce.
The hamper was then raffled by Helen Cann at a charity event and the £60 raised was donated to Hospiscare on the occasion of their 21st birthday.
The breakfast is one of a series held during the year, promoting the ethos of local food.
The next one takes place on October 7, during ?Celebration of Devon food? week.
Organiser Derek Godfrey-Brown said these events would not be possible without the great help given by licensee Nigel and his staff at the Plume of Feathers.
