CONSERVATIVE Shadow Chancellor the Rt Hon Oliver Letwin MP met members of the Tavistock Business Association during a flying visit to West Devon and East Cornwall last week.
The MP for West Dorset answered questions mainly relating to business matters at an informal gathering at Brown?s Hotel, Tavistock.
Mr Letwin was up-beat about the future and said it was important to get the message across that the Conservative Party ?really means business?.
On being informed by association member John Taylor that Tavistock had gained the accolade Best Market Town in Britain he quipped: ?That cannot be right ? it?s not in West Dorset!?
Prior to meeting the Tavistock Business Association Mr Letwin had visited Ginsters at Callington.
He concluded his trip to Tavistock with a meeting with the Conservative group at West Devon Borough Council.
