ALMOST 50 'prisoners' will be released from Dartmoor Prison this weekend in the 27th annual Dartmoor Jailbreak.
Participants are challenged to create records while 'on the run' from Dartmoor Prison, wearing prison gear or other disguises and without paying for transport. Being set free on Saturday, the teams and individuals have up to a week to complete their challenges.
Teams will check in at the Prince of Wales pub in Princetown from 9.15am and will assemble behind a rope in the former prison officers' club car park at 10.10 and be set free at 10.30am.
Organiser Sue Gould said: 'Most escape plans are being kept under wraps but overseas destinations were definitely planned - however these may be disrupted by the Icelandic Volcano.'
The Dartmoor Jailbreak starts this Saturday, April 24.
