TWO West Devon servicemen have been honoured by the Queen for their services during the war in Iraq.
The awards are in recognition of work carried out during Operation Telic, which saw thousands of troops deployed in Iraq between March 19 and April 19.
Captain Robert Allen, who received the OBE, was the commanding officer of the RFA Argus (Royal Fleet Auxiliary) which provided medical facilities for the coalition forces during the conflict.

Five hundred people were treated on the ship including battle casualties from the coalition forces and the Iraqi population including many children.

The Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) was awarded to Commander Martyn Jon Williams from Yelverton who served on the HMS Liverpool.
Chief of the Defence Staff General Sir Michael Walker said: 'The men and women who serve in Britain's armed forces never fail to draw the admiration of people all over the world.
