East Allington Utd 2
TWO goal Andrew Davis and defender Gavin Forsey gave Chagford a precious win as they recovered from being behind.
The points from this mid-table clash, coupled with the teams around them losing, gives the firsts much welcome breathing space as they go into a Herald Cup match against division six Kingsbridge and Kellaton at Chagford, kicking off at 2pm.
South Devon five
Ipplepen Ath Res 4
Chagford Res 0
IPPLEPEN started like promotion-seekers ought to and came at Chagford for the first ten minutes or so.
However, Chagford composed themselves and the first clear chance fell to Jon Scarry who toe-poked Reeves' through ball just past a post. Reeves then fired wide from Scarry's cross, the ball taking a bobble just as he lined up the shot.
Ipplepen's left-winger then put his side a goal up with a fine finish. Scarry was sent tumbling in the penalty area but the referee waved away the visitors' appeals.
Just before half-time Matt Swift kept Chagford in the game with an excellent save.
The second half opened with Chagford pressing for an equaliser. At the heart of most of their play was Oscar Emanuel who probed and tested the home defence from the left flank.
Ipplepen took control and mistakes by the moormen led to a succession of goals giving the Pens a flattering score-line.
