The family of a schoolboy who suffered a broken leg in an accident on the A390 at St Ann’s Chapel yesterday afternoon (Tuesday) have thanked everyone for their help.

The boy, believed to be a Callington Community College pupil, was involved in a collision.

He was taken to Derriford Hospital and has broken his lower right leg in three places.

His family said that two of the breaks are straightforward but one will need surgery.

A paramedic, air ambulance and land ambulance crew and a local GP all attended the scene, on the road near Central Motors.

The family thanked garage staff for their calm assistance, ensuring the boy was being cared for by the time they arrived on the scene.
