Duchy Knockout Cup replay

Boscastle 4

Gunnislake 3

GUNNISLAKE took the lead on 10 minutes when Paul Tomkies struck home an excellent 20-yard shot. The hosts were soon on level terms when, as the visitors failed to clear a corner, a sequence of Boscastle headers resulted in an equalising goal.

The visitors regained the lead on the half-hour mark. The goal came via the head of central defender Chris Adams as he converted Neil Kinger's free-kick. By the interval Boscastle had again drawn level having scored after the visitors had once more not managed to clear their lines when defending a corner.

Boscastle had the better of the opening exchanges in the second half and opened up a two-goal advantage. The first goal came when a Gunnislake defender scored an own goal while the second came from the penalty spot.

With ten minutes remaining Gunnislake reduced the arrears through Lee Underwood. However, albeit not because of a lack of effort, this was ultimately to be no more than a consolation goal.

This Saturday Gunnislake play their first league match for four weeks when they travel to Grampound, while on Sunday they have a local derby when St Dominick visit Gunnislake for a second round Bedford Cup fixture which kicks off at 2.30pm.
